Orange Madeleines

My friend Kris and I love to travel to New York together.  Years ago, we were eating at Daniel by Daniel Boulud, and at the end of the meal they brought warm orange madeleines.  It seems like the simplest treat but can be just what you need after a satisfying meal or with afternoon coffee.  They’re quick to prepare, but need a little chilling time, so plan accordingly.  The batter can be made up to four days ahead of baking.
